Emerging Houston rapper Don Toliver made some major moves on the Billboard Hot 100 this week (dated Dec. 14) after his May 2019 single "No Idea" debuted at No. 68, making for his first career Hot 100 hit. He simultaneously stole the No. 9 spot on the Emerging Artists chart. His voice is familiar from his melodious, self-titled "Trap&B" guest verse on Travis Scott's "Can't Say" from Astroworld, which peaked at No. 38 on the Hot 100 back in August 2018. But when Toliver takes the solo reins in "No Idea" via his Donny Womack alter ego (inspired by late R&B artist Bobby Womack), soulful, gaseous moans greet listeners' ears while taking them down to the roots of Southern rap.
