"River" is a Christmas folk song by Joni Mitchell, from her 1971 album Blue. Although never released as a single, it holds second place amongst Mitchell's songs most recorded by other artists. On 27 December 2019, a version of the song by Ellie Goulding reached number one on the UK Singles Chart, making it the last number-one song of the decade.
