Remember New Kids on the Block? The boy band, consisting of Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, Danny Wood and brothers Jonathan and Jordan Knight, enjoyed significant success from 1984-1994, with songs including “You Got It (The Right Stuff),” “I’ll Be Loving You Forever” and “Step By Step.” It just got easier for fans of New Kids on the Block as they are "Hangin’ Tough,” because the band is stepping forth once again. Not only has New Kids on the Block recorded “House Party,” a new song that came out last Friday, the members made a music video while social distancing. They hope to lift spirits and get people dancing. Also participating in “House Party” are Boys II Men, Jordan Sparks, Naughty By Nature, Big Freedia and a few other surprise guests. (Hint: There’s a cameo by an “American Idol" winner/country singer.)
The best part? It’s for a good cause. All proceeds of the song (including T-shirts available for sale on the band’s website) go to No Kid Hungry. In addition, a few of the New Kids on the Block’s kids get into the act. You’ll see some of their children dancing behind their famous dads. CNN reports that it caught up with band members Wahlberg, McIntyre, Knight and Wood about how they came up with the idea.
