It also hit #1 on the Canadian Adult Contemporary chart. In the UK, the song became the greatest hit of his career. In the U.S., it was his biggest hit since the L.T.D. song "Back in Love Again", on which he was the lead singer.

It appears in a 2019 TV commercial for Amazon Prime. It was also covered by Kyla for the Filipino TV series of the same name. In the 4th episode of the 3rd season of “The Office” (US Version), Pam sings the song at the funeral.
